Myrrh is a resin secreted by a small thorny tree called the myrrh tree ( Commiphora myrrha ). All trees and shrubs in the Commiphora family produce gum resins, as does the family to which they belong, the Burseráceas in general. But myrrh resin is the most aromatic and valuable.
Our myrrh comes from Estado de Mexico in Mexico.
