Copal is not just any aroma. It has been used for centuries in various cultures as it purifies the atmosphere and repels evil spirits, and is also used as a thank you or offering in various rituals and religious events.

A pleasant smell is released when burning the resin, which is obtained from the Bursera copallifera tree, commonly known as the Copal tree. The tree measures from 4 to 30 meters and grows in hot areas in states such as Michoacán, Oaxaca and Chiapas.
